PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN:

  • Definition of inclusion and what constitutes true and meaningful inclusion

  • Resources and supports needed to include people with disabilities in existing activities and programs

  • Exploring Similarities vs. Differences in all people

  • Modifications and accommodations to consider in program development

  • Appropriately communicating and interacting with individuals with disabilities

  • Promoting inclusive opportunities in volunteerism, recreation & leisure, faith-based activities, and community/civic organizations

  • Addressing barriers to participation including transportation, personal supports, information sharing
